Ingredients• 1 pound asparagus • 1 tablespoon olive oil • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt • fresh ground black pepper, to taste • 1 lemon, 1/2 zested and the other 1/2 sliced • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese, shredded
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
Cut off the tough bottom ends of the asparagus. Add the asparagus stalks to a foil-lined baking sheet.
Drizzle the asparagus with the olive oil, and add the kosher salt and black pepper.
Add the zest of the 1/2 lemon and mix it with your hands.
Add 4 of the lemon slices to the baking sheet. Sprinkle the asparagus with the parmesan cheese.
Bake until tender when pierced by a fork at the thickest part, about 10-15 minutes. The timing will depend on the thickness of the asparagus spears. The asparagus spears in the photo were done in 12 minutes.
