Many think filet mignon is reserved for the professionals to prepare, but we’re here to tell you that you, too, can make the Best-Ever Filet Mignon right in your very own home. The Best-Ever Filet Mignon is perfect for a date night in, or any time you want to celebrate life a little. You’ll love the succulent, rich, juicy flavors of this dish. Serve with your favorite sides (we love mashed potatoes and asparagus!) for a delicious and special meal.

• 4 (6 ounce) filet mignon • Kosher salt, to taste • ground black pepper, to taste • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil • 4 tablespoons butter • 1 tablespoon rosemary, roughly chopped

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Step 2

Allow steak to sit out on the counter for about 30 minutes, bringing it to room temperature.

Step 3

Place it on a cutting board and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

Step 4

In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat the oil until just before the smoking point.

Step 5

Add the steak until very seared, about 5 minutes.

Step 6

Flip the steak over and add the butter and rosemary.

Step 7

Baste with butter and cook for another 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 8

Transfer skillet to oven and cook until cooked to your liking, about 5 minutes for medium. Check every couple of minutes so you don't risk overcooking.

Step 9

Allow to rest for a few minutes, and serve!
