Fresh Squeezed Margarita

There’s nothing more refreshing than a margarita. And we’re not talking tequila with sour mix—fresh-squeezing limes can be the difference between a great margarita and a so-so margarita. Fresh Squeezed Margarita is a good recipe to commit to memory as it will most certainly come in handy when hosting or for peaceful summer evenings when you're feeling festive. Serve Fresh Squeezed Margarita with tortilla chips and salsa for an even more celebratory feeling!


• lime wedge, optional, for rimming the glass and garnishing • coarse salt, optional, for rimming the glass • 1 1/2 ounces silver tequila • 1 ounce orange liqueur • 3/4 ounce freshly-squeezed lime juice • Ice, for shaking, plus enough to fill your choice of glass • agave nectar or simple syrup, optional, to taste


Step 1

Run the juicy part of a lime wedge around the top rim of your serving glass.

Step 2

Fill a shallow bowl or plate with the coarse salt.

Step 3

Dip the rim until it is covered with the desired amount of salt. Set it aside.

Step 4

Add the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and a few ice cubes to a cocktail shaker. Shake or stir for about 10 seconds, until combined.

Step 5

Taste and stir in the desired amount of sweetener.

Step 6

Fill the rimmed serving glass with ice and pour in the margarita mix.

Step 7

Garnish it with a lime slice, serve, and enjoy!
