How much more classic does it get than Fried Pork Chops? Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, Fried Pork Chops are perfect when paired with mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables, or cornbread... or really, whatever side dish tickles your fancy. It takes 20 minutes or less to whip up a bunch of rich and savory chops, so you can spend your time making your favorite suppertime sides or just enjoying that satisfying sizzle on the skillet.

• 1 cup vegetable oil, for frying • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt, or to taste • salt, to taste • pepper, to taste • 4 (3/4-inch-thick) pork chops • green peas, cooked, optional, for serving • macaroni and cheese, optional, for serving

Step 1

In a large skillet on the stove-top over medium-high heat, heat the oil.

Step 2

In a plastic resealable bag, combine the flour, seasoning salt, salt, and pepper.

Step 3

Place the pork chops in the bag, seal, and shake to coat the chops.

Step 4

Once the oil is thoroughly heated, remove the pork chops from the bag, shaking off any excess flour.

Step 5

Fry the chops in the skillet until golden on the outside and the juices run clear, about 4-5 minutes per side. The chops should have an internal temperature of 145 degrees F when measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 6

Serve hot with macaroni and cheese and green peas.
