Few dinners are as iconically romantic and as easy to put together as Garlic Butter Steak. It helps that Garlic Butter Steak is also amazing: perfectly cooked steak topped with herbaceous, decadent butter with a savory touch. Serve this on top of mashed potatoes for a complete Valentine's Day dinner that you and your significant other will never forget.

• 2 tablespoons butter, softened, divided • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, minced • 1/2 teaspoon garlic, minced • 1/4 teaspoon reduced-sodium soy sauce • 1 (3/4-pound) flat iron steak or boneless top sirloin steak • 1/8 teaspoon salt • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Step 1

Mix 1 tablespoon butter with parsley, garlic, and soy sauce.

Step 2

Sprinkle the steak with salt and pepper.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the remaining butter over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the steak, cooking until it reaches the desired doneness, reading 135 degrees F for medium-rare or 140 degrees F for medium when checked with a meat thermometer, about 4-7 minutes per side.

Step 5

Serve the steak topped with the garlic butter.
