IngredientsFor the tostadas: • 1 pound lean ground beef • 1/3 cup water • 3 tablespoons taco seasoning • 1 1/2 cups refried beans • 8 tostada shells For the optional toppings: • 1 cup tomatoes, diced • 2 cups cheese, of your preference, shredded or crumbled • 2/3 cup sour cream • lettuce, to taste • onions, to taste • olives, to taste • jalapenos, to taste • cilantro, to taste • red onions, to taste
Set your oven to 350 degrees F.
Cook the beef into a large pan until the beef is browned, about 6-8 minutes.
Drain off the fat.
Add in the water and the taco seasoning.
Simmer the beef with the water and seasoning until it has thickened, about 5 minutes.
At the same time, heat up the refried beans in a skillet over the stove-top.
Put the tostada shells into the oven and bake them until the shells are warm and fragrant, about 5 minutes.
Lightly spoon the heated refried beans into the tostada shells.
Add in the beef and your favorite toppings. Serve immediately.
