A quick and easy lunch in just 15 minutes! This Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwich is perfect as-is, or you can switch up the cheese and add other condiments as you desire. We also love this sandwich with a cup of tomato soup, too! Hot Ham and Cheese Sandwich is a classic of savory and cheesy flavor with a toasty crunch and just a touch of tangy mustard, so you can get lunch done deliciously and speedily!


• 2 slices bread, white or whole grain • 2 teaspoons butter • 2 slices Swiss cheese • 2 thin slices deli ham • 1 teaspoon mayonnaise • 1 teaspoon wholegrain mustard


Step 1

Place a skillet on the stove-top and heat it over medium-high.

Step 2

Spread one side of each slice of the bread with a teaspoon of the butter.

Step 3

Put a slice, butter-side down in the skillet.

Step 4

Top it with the Swiss cheese and ham.

Step 5

Spread the other side of the bread not on the skillet with the mayonnaise and mustard.

Step 6

Put the untoasted bread slice butter-side up on top of the sandwich.

Step 7

Flip the sandwich and cook until it is golden brown and the cheese has melted, about 3 minutes.
