Ingredients• 1 1/4 pounds salmon fillets, skinless, boneless, and cut into 4 even fillets • 1/2 teaspoon salt • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter • 1 teaspoon lemon zest, grated • 4 tablespoons lemon juice, freshly squeezed • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced
Season the salmon on both sides of each filet with salt and pepper.
Heat a large light-colored pan over medium heat.
Immediately add the butter and swirl and stir to prevent splatter until the butter turns brown, for about 3-7 minutes.
Add the seasoned salmon and cook uncovered until golden brown on one side, about 3-4 minutes.
Flip and sauté until flaky and cooked through with an internal temperature of 145 degrees F, about 2-3 minutes.
In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the lemon zest and lemon juice to the pan, spooning the sauce over the salmon as it cooks.
Transfer the salmon to plates and drizzle the fillets with the remaining sauce.
Sprinkle the salmon with parsley.
