Ingredients• 4 slices bacon, uncooked and sliced into small pieces • 1 cup white onion, chopped • 2 cloves garlic, minced • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth • 1 pound green beans, stems removed • 1/2 teaspoon creole seasoning • salt, to taste • pepper, to taste
Heat a large pot or Dutch oven on medium-high heat.
Add in the bacon and cook until the bacon crisps, about 3-4 minutes.
Drain most of the excess fat from the pot, reserving 1 teaspoon at the bottom.
Add in the onions and garlic to the reserved fat and cook until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
Add in the chicken broth, and deglaze the pot with a wooden spatula, scraping up the bits of cooked bacon.
Add in the green beans, creole seasoning, salt, and pepper, and stir.
Reduce the heat to low.
Cover and cook until the green beans are tender, about 1 hour-1 hour 30 minutes.
Taste for seasoning, and serve.
