• 16 ounces spaghetti • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped • 2 cloves garlic, minced • 1 pound ground beef • kosher salt, to taste • freshly ground black pepper, to taste • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning • 1 (28 ounces) can crushed tomatoes • 1/2 cup basil, chopped • 1 cup mozzarella, shredded • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated • fresh parsley, optional, chopped, for garnish


Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease a medium baking dish with cooking spray.

Cook the spaghetti according to package directions until al dente.

Drain the pasta and set aside.

In a large skillet over medium heat, heat the olive oil.

Add the onions and cook until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
